A small European Family

Of course candidates are competing and experts talking and listening, but... there is some space left for a nice boat trip on the Rhine, that took us to the three borders of France, Germany and Switzerland at the same time!
A small European family that is getting along well!

Day 2: same practical task, different approaches

The CYE2012 is all about getting experience and exchange of ideas... While the task is growing, one could see the different approaches that candidates have to continue their work and the priorities they take along the way.
Some hard work has been done surely!!

Day 2: Theoretical test comes along...

One of the specific items of the CYE2012 is the theoretical test, in which candidates show their knowledge skills. And a challenge it was...

Day 1: Getting started on Saturday

Finding out the first steps on the practical task, you see elements grow bit by bit....Finally, it should look like the 'showcase' example within the test booth of the CYE.

In these first nervous minutes, experts can support their candidates enormously by their presence.

And the public is watching closely...

More pics in the gallery of day 1!
The practical task as it should look in the end...

Saturday 14 April 2012

Kick off within half an hour! 'Break a leg' guys!

The nerves are increasing... Tension higher....
Today from 13PM, 9 candidates and their experts will take the challenge of a new practical task and theoretical test in Basel during 4 days and 22 hours!

About two to three thousand visitors will have the opportunity to watch the electric spectacle during these days.

In addition, VSEI introduces different interviews during the MUBA Basel Messe on a live media platform to promote the profession and skills of these young Electrical installers. Competition manager Andreas Rüegg stressed on the high performance level of the young installers during this interview and he was of course - as everyone is - curious on the outcome of this European competition.

At Light and Building in Frankfurt meanwhile, there will be a live interview on Monday 16th and pictures of candidates in action will be visible at the ZVEH stand during the know exhibition mess in Frankfurt.

We will keep you posted!

The Challenge begins tomorrow !

After one more sleepless night it is a fact.
Tomorrow from 13PM these brave candidates and experts will take the challenge of a new practical task
and theoretical test in Basel during 4 days and 22 hours!

Read the encouraging words of three Presidents Janne Skogberg [AIE], Pirmin Gassmann [VSEI] and Stephan Bauer [KNX] and TF CYE Chairman Agnar Holen within the CYE2012 presentation brochure.

As the Swiss VSEI-president Pirmin Gassmann stated in his letter:
"To qualify for an international competition such as the European Competition for Young Electricians demands skill, effort, commitment and considerable perseverance.
It also requires good basic training from employers who are committed to transferring high-level knowledge and skills.

The industry as a whole supports young talents at every stage of their preparation for the championships,
to ensure exceptional performance. The journey itself is the goal, since without training, success is impossible."

Electrical skills competitions, such as 'The European Competition of Young Electricians', are an excellent platform to highlight the electrical installers' profession and quality. In that way we stimulate young people to choose for an electrical future in which they can blow life into buildings, creating the new architecture of our modern society.
